Insulated Concrete Form Specialist

Hi, I am Craig Antrobus, owner of Antrobus Consulting Ltd.

I would like to take a minute to give you a brief outline of my qualifications. I have graduated from three post secondary institutions with the final one being the British Columbia Institute of Technology. All of my education has been construction related and since my graduation from BCIT I have worked in this field.

 I started working after graduation for the Canadian government in the Department of National Defence (DND) and then Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). I designed and managed the construction of specialty buildings for the DND and managed construction and maintenance for AAFC. These positions have enabled me to become very familiar with many specialty construction methods and given me a very diversified knowledge of all trades.

 Since leaving the government I have designed and constructed my own subdivision and work as a land development consultant for clients who want their properties rezoned or subdivided. I prepare all application and submissions and attend to all meetings until the project is complete. I have different methods of payment and each project is looked at separately and then an agreement is met.

 In the subdivision noted above I also designed and constructed many houses on this site. All the houses have been built with Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) from footings to roof line. I am convinced that ICF is the best method of building a house or commercial building. The benefits of ICF construction can be found on the Information tab link which details many of ICF's advantages. The cost difference between building ICF versus standard framing is very minimal but the annual cost savings achieved in a ICF building is very high and the advantages are many.

 I maintain exceptional records including the logging of all invoices, payments, deposits and present a monthly excel spread sheet to the clients so that they know every step throughout the construction what the costs are. I manage the construction using my own system (Contract Plus) which all my clients have found to be the most beneficial. I tender, arrange and manage all contractors and labour and the clients select all finishes, fixtures etc. This keeps the client well informed and involved in the process and provides the best method available for the clients to manage the costs of the construction.

 I am eager to work with my clients through every step of the building process from the initial application to occupation. My job is to make your building experience stress free and a decision that you will not regret. The benefits of having a professional construction manager are many. My knowlege and experience overseeing a project benefits the client in many ways. - I ensure all construction is proper and the contractors are not cutting corners in an effort to save them money. - I ensure all trades have all the necessary qualifications and documentation to perform the work legally. - I investigate all engineers and contractors to ensure they are insured. - I maintain accurate records in case of any future audit. - I provide monthly detailed cost reports showing all costs to the client which gives the client good control on the cost of the project. - I provide and ensure the warranty for the building is registered and underwritten.ealize that he is required to provide insurance on the building for 10 years. Building is a very expensive endevour and to have something go wrong would be extremely upsetting which is why if you are not a professional construction manager, then you need to hire one.
